A wonderfully eccentric antique Aller Vale Devon pottery dog, modelled in the grotesque style and finished in a rich, glossy green glaze.
With his enormous ears, wonderfully grumpy expression and beautifully textured coat, this unusual fellow is positively bursting with character. The deep green glaze pools in the modelling, highlighting every detail of his rather extraordinary appearance.
Produced by the historic Aller Vale pottery in Devon, this charming and distinctly unconventional dog would make a fabulous addition to a bookshelf, mantelpiece or collection of English art pottery.
A delightful example of the more playful side of antique English ceramics.
